De accomodatie The accommodation

De accomodatie bestaat bijna altijd uit verschillende verdiepingen, zie foto 1 & 2, de zgn. dekken, deze worden vaak benoemd als brugdek, kapiteinsdek, officierendek etc., op dit schip zijn ze genummerd, 1 dek, 2 dek etc. zoals op foto 3. The accommodation almost always consist of several floors,msee photo 1 & 2, so called decks, these decks are often called, bridgemdeck, captainsmdeck, officers deck etc., on this ship the decks are called,      1 deck, 2 deck etc. as on photo 3.

Wil je aan boord komen dan zul je via de gangway moeten, foto 1. To come on board you have to use the gangway, photo 1.
Op de foto's 2, 3 & 4 zie je de hut van de kapitein en op foto 5 zijn slaaphut. On the photo's 2, 3 & 4  you see the cabin of the captain and on photo 5 his bedroom.
Foto 6 zien we een gang op dek 5, foto 7 de gang van dek 1 en foto 8 de gang op het "Poopdeck".   Photo 6 shows a alleyway on deck 5, photo 7 the alleyway deck 1 and photo 8 the alleyway on the  "Poop deck". 
Op foto 9 zien we een hut van een matroos. On photo 9 we see a sailors cabin.
Op foto 10 en 11 zien we de eet- en TV ruimte van de matrozen en de foto's 12 en 13 de eet en TV ruimte van de officieren.  On photo 10 & 11 we see the eat- and TV room of the crew and the photo's 12 & 13 the eat- and TV room of the officers. 
Sommige schepen hebben een sportruimte zoals op foto 13 en bijna alle schepen hebben een wasruimte met droogmachine foto 14. Some bigger ship has a sports room (photo 13) and almost all ship will have a laundry with drying machine,. (photo 14).

Op foto 1 zie je het hospitaal, onder het ziekenhuisbed ligt een brancard en achter het bed staan zuurstofflessen, op foto 2 zie je een extra brede buitendeur.  On photo 1 you see the hospital, underneath the hospital-bed you find the stretcher and behind the bed the bottles for the oxygen, on photo 2 you see a etra wide outside door.
Foto 3 laat de behandelkamer zien, hier is ook de apotheek geplaatst, foto 4. hier liggen ook de spullen om te hechten etc. Photo 3 shows the surgery, here we have also the drugstore, photo 4, here we have also the items to stitch etc.

We gaan van voor naar achteren over het schip en ik probeer zoveel mogelijk te laten zien. We will go from the fore ship to the aft and I will try to show as much as possible,

De bulb, bij een spiegelgladde zee, de bulb is er om de weerstand van het water te verminderen waardoor men minder brandstof verbruikt. The bulb in a smooth sea, the bulb is made to reduce the resistance of the water and so reduce the use of fuel.

Foto 1, het voorschip of zoals wij het noemen "de bak" van vooraf gezien en op foto 2 van achteren. Op foto 3 de bakboords ankerwinch (aan stuurboord is er ook een), hiermee wordt het anker gepresenteerd en weer opgetakeld, maar tevens zit er een tros op de winch welke we gebruiken om het schip vast te leggen in de haven, het tros- en ankergedeelte kunnen onafhankelijk van elkaar gebruikt worden.   Photo1, the fore ship or as we call this "the forecastle" seen from the fore ward and on photo 2 from the aft. On photo 3 the portside anchor winch (on the starboard side there is also one), with these we present the anchor and hoist it up again, but also there is a rope on the winch which we use to moor the vessel in port, the rope- and anchor part can be used indepent from each other.
En op foto 4 de voormast, hier rust kraan 1 in en tevens zie je onze fluit. (misthoorn). And on photo 4 we see the foremast, on this one crane 1 is resting and also you see our whistle

Op de linker foto de verfstore en rechts de bootsmanstore, hier bergt de bootsman allerlei spullen op zoals touw, sjormateriaal enzo. On the left photo the paint-locker and on the right the bosun-store, here the bosun keeps all kinds of rope, lashing-materials etc.

Dan komen we bij ruim 1 (op de linkse foto van achteren naar voren gezien ) en op de rechtse foto de ruimte opzij van de ruimen naar achteren. Now we come at hold 1 (on the left photo seen  from aft to fore ward) and on the right photo the space aside of the holds to the aft ship.

Lopend naar achteren komen we eerst kraan 1 tegen en verder naar achteren kraan 2 en komen we langs de ruimen 2, 3,4 en 5. Walking to the aft ship we pass first crane 1 and later crane 2 and we pass the holds 2,3,4 & 5.

Op het eind van dit stuk zien we links (foto 1) het bnkerstation en daar achter de trap naar het achterschip, bij de trap omhoog kijkend zie je de accomodatie. (foto 2)  On the end of this walk we see on our left (photo 1) the bunker station and behind that the stairs to the aft ship, near the stairs looking up we see the accommodation. (foto 2)
En dit is de achterwinch (foto 3), deze zijn er enkel om de trossen te bedienen en aan elke kant is er een. And this is the aft winch (photo 3), these are only used for the mooring-ropes and on both sides we have one.
Dit ( foto 4) is de deur welke naar het hoofddek gaat, zie verder op deze bladzijde, en op foto 5 zie je de ruimtes waar onze gas- en zuurstof flessen worden bewaard.  This (photo 4) is the door which leads to the main deck, see further on this page, and on photo 5 you see the rooms where our ethane- and oxygen bottles are kept.

Hier zien we (foto 1) de buitentrap naar de alle dekken en op foto 2 en 3 ben ik bovenop de brug, foto 2 het schip en foto 3 een van de brugvleugels.  Here we see (photo 1) the outside stairs to all the decks and on photo 2 and 3 I'm on top of the bridge, photo 2  the vessel and photo 3 one of the bridge-wings.
De achtermast (foto 4) hier zie je de radarscanners en verschillende navigatielampen. The aft mast (photo 4) here we find the radars canners and different navigation lights.

Omdat er gebieden zijn waar piraterij voorkomt, zoals bij ons Straat Malacca, kunnen we het achterschip afsluiten met stalen hekken (linkse foto) en tevens hebben we aan beide zijde van het achterschip brandslangen gereed om eventuele piraten weg te spuiten. (rechtse foto) Due to the fact that there are area's where piracy occurs, as in our route Malacca Strait, we can close the aft ship with steel fences (left photo) and also we have ready on both side of the aft ship, water hoses to wash possible pirates away. (right photo)

De kombuis is het domein van de kok, hij bakt het brood, kookt het eten, zorgt dat de kombuis, de voorraadruimtes schoon zijn en bestelt het eten. The galley is the place of the cook, he is baking bread, cooks the food, take cares that the galley and the stores are clean and take cares of the ordering of stores.
De voorraden worden bij een scheepshandelaar gekocht. Op dit schip doen we dat bij Terneuzen Bonded Stores uit Breskens (Nederland) The stores are ordered by a Ship's chandler, on this ship we are ordering the stores with Terneuzen Bonded Stores of Breskens (The Netherlands)

Als we de tijd hebben gaan de kok en ik liever naar de markt om verse lokale groenten en fruit te kopen.  If we have the time the cook and myself prefer to go to the market to buy local fresh vegetables and fruits.

Het maindek, hier zullen we even doorlopen. Foto 1 is de gang waar zich de koel- en vriescel van de kok bevinden (rechts), links is zijn droge store. Zou je naar rechts kijken dan zie je deze buitendeur naar het dek. (foto 2) The main deck, here we will walk trough. Photo 1 is the corridor where the cold storage room and freezer from the cook are situated (right), on the left you find the dry-stores. If you could look to the right you should see the outside door to the deck. (photo 2)
Loop je door dan kom je in de werkplaats (foto 3) waar links achter de deur van een opbergruimte is, ga je verder dan kom je in een hal waar de trap naar de machinekamer zich bevindt en nog een opbergruimte. (foto 4) When you continue you arrive in the workshop, (photo 3) where you see on the left aft a door to a storage room, further on you arrive in a hallway where the stairs to the engine room are and another storage room. (photo 4)
Daarna kom je in een ruimte waar zich nog meer opbergruimtes bevinden, de foto's 5 & 6 laten de "Bonded store" zien, hier wordt ons bier, sigaretten, frisdranken en knabbels bewaard.   After that you arrive in a room where we find more storage places, photo 5 & 6 shows the "Bonded store", here we keep our beer, cigarettes, softdrinks and crispy's.
Op de foto's 7, 8 & 9 zien we weer opslagruimtes, deze worden gebruikt door de machinist en de stuurman. On the photo's 7, 8 & 9 we see more storage rooms, these are used by the engineer as well as the mate.
Dan kom je de kleedkamer (foto 10) tegen, iedereen heeft een eigen locker.  Then you arrive at the changing room, everybody has his own locker.
Daarna zijn er nog 3 ruimtes e zien, als eerste het machinistenkantoor (foto 11). After that we have left 3 rooms, as first the engine room office (photo 11).
Dan de wasserij (foto 12), hier bevinden zich 2 wasmachines en 2 drogers, een voor werk kleding en een voor de rest. Then we arrive at the laundry (photo 12), here we find 2 washing machines and 2 dryers, one for working clothes and one for the rest.
De laatste ruimte is de ruimte waar de machines voor de koel- en vriescel staan. The last room is the place where the engines for the cold storage and freezer are situated.

Verschillende bemanningsleden helpen de kok tijdens de voorbereidingen. Eerste kerstdag hadden onze Philipijnse medewerkers de maaltijd uitgekozen en op 2e kerstdag de Nederlanders. Some of the crew are helping the cook during preparation of the meals. First x-mas day the Philippines choose the meal, 2nd x-mas the Dutch did it.

Kerst en oud en nieuw 2006 zat ik aan boord van de Reggeborg, weer met een goede kok. X-mas and new year I was on board of the Reggeborg again with a very good cook.
Hier zie je de kok de Hr. T Patina met wat creaties van hem  Here we seen the cook Mr. T Patina with some of his creations.
Op de linkse foto zie je de kok met een van zijn creaties, dit is gemaakt enkel van groentes. On the left photo we see the cook with one of his creations, this one is made only with vegetables.
